2024 summer camp:
Drop off at 8:30am at the Notch Visitors Center in South Amherst. 1500 West St.
Pick up at 297 Pleasant st, Northampton Ma at 2pm
We will hike a different mountain each day, train in the woods, balance on rocks and logs, learn our patterns and definitions, and play various taekwondo games at and around the trails.

There is only room for 10 campers in each session. This is to insure that each student gets the attention and training necessary to improve dramatically during the week of camp. We begin each day at 8:30am with a stretching and warm up session at the base of the Notch Visitors Center (1500 West St. South Amherst MA). After stretching and a little powwow, we will begin our hike. Over the course of the camp we will hike four different mountains including Bare Mt, Norwattick Mt, Rattlesnake Nob Mt, and Hitchcock Mt. While hiking we will discuss our tenants and the theory of power behind Taekwon-Do. We will stop at clearings and on mountain tops to learn new techniques and to practice ones we have already learned. We will do self defense drills as well as light conditioning and flow drills. We will practice meditating in the Horse Caves and in several other tranquil locations.
The second half of the day will be spent at the school located at 297 Pleasant St in Northampton MA. Here students will eat lunch and watch part of a martial arts movie like Karate Kid, Dragon Ball/Z/GT, or Three Ninjas. Then we will practice/learn our patterns and hit the bags and learn some stick fighting as well as Nunchaku. On the last day of camp we will have a sleep over/camp-out at a sled dog retreat in West Chesterfield. We will have a large camp fire, hike through the retreat, body surf down a fast river, climb a waterfall, have a water gun fight, make s’mores and hot dogs, and tell stories after we receive our new belt rank (up to Purple Belt, past this takes more time, upper belts will receive a camp Star patch and certificate). Supply lists will be sent out to campers two weeks before the first session.
